Dysbiosis in younger patients

Article in PDF

Childhood is one of the leading risk factors for the development of dysbiosis. Disturbances in the composition of normal intestinal microflora are observed in every third newborn and in half of practically healthy children.

In conditions of an altered microbial landscape of the intestine, a complex of pre- and probiotic substances coming from outside has a beneficial effect on the child’s body by performing the functions of normal microflora: it ensures the synthesis of B vitamins, vitamin K, tocopherol, and ascorbic acid. Thanks to the restoration of the pH of the intestinal contents, favorable conditions are created for the absorption of iron, calcium, and vitamin D. Early use of combined probiotic agents effectively eliminates hypovitaminosis and micronutrient deficiencies by improving their absorption against the background of normalization of intestinal pH and digestive enzyme activity.

It should not be forgotten that lactobacilli and lactic acid streptococci carry out enzymatic breakdown of proteins, fats, and complex carbohydrates (including those effective in lactase deficiency) and secrete enzymes that facilitate the digestion of proteins in infants. In the large intestine, bifidobacteria are involved in the conversion of undigested food residues. In infants, bifidobacteria phosphatase participates in the metabolism of milk casein. Throughout the intestine, beneficial microflora participates in the metabolism of bile pigments and bile acids, promoting the reabsorption of bile acids.

Rotabiotic Baby is a unique complex of live lyophilized beneficial bacteria, prebiotic inulin, and plant extracts designed to restore normal intestinal microflora in young patients from the first days of life. The inclusion of Rotabiotic Baby in the complex treatment of transient intestinal dysfunctions (diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, intestinal colic), various allergic conditions, and other diseases accompanied by dysbiotic disorders allows for faster patient recovery and significantly improved clinical outcomes. Rotabiotic Baby is also recommended for the prevention of dysbiosis in bottle-fed infants, during antibiotic therapy, and other adverse factors.
